Mancuso Lands 16th Title

Olympic gold medalist and local Tahoe/Squaw Valley athlete Julia Mancuso took full advantage of home snow Thursday to win the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships giant slalom for a record 16th U.S. title. Mancuso beat out the young ski racing phenom and World Cup slalom winner Mikaela Shiffrin by just .88 of a second.

The annual Billy Dutton Uphill returns to Squaw Valley on April 14. Participants start at the base of KT-22 and go UP the Mountain Run to High Camp. Ski it, skin it, run it, snowshoe or hike, whatever works for you - sorry, no motors or jet packs. This is a unique race with a tough 2000ft. of climbing over the 3.2 mile course. A fun challenge for recreational athletes, runners, snowshoers, XC and backcountry skiers, or anyone who loves a good climb. Come and test yourself in this beauitful mountain setting.

Spring brings the sun, great snow conditions and the spring pool party series. March 23rd marks the opening of the High Camp pool and hot tub for the spring season. Come relax pool side while you take in breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe, and enjoy refreshing beverages while soaking up the California sun. Great music, food and drinks can be enjoyed from 1-3:30pm. Don't forget those bathing suits.
