Squaw, Alpine Receive 5 to 6 Feet of Snow, Expand Terrain

After three days of storms, and up to six feet of new snow, Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows have announced extensive expansion of skiable terrain, over 700% more than last week, with a combined 1550 acres and 21 lifts now in operation.

Tahoe-based adaptive athlete Grant Korgan is attempting to become the first adaptive athlete in history to reach the South Pole. On Saturday, January 14th, Gallery Keoki and Chase International are hosting “Chase the Push”, a fund and awareness-raising event for the expedition and its affiliate non-profit foundation, High Fives.

Tahoe Adaptive Athlete Pushes Towards South Pole

Lake Tahoe local and adaptive athlete Grant Korgan is literally 'pushing' his way towards the South Pole in a first-time sit-ski attempt to cross the Antarctic and reach the South Pole on January 17th, the 100-year anniversary of Captain Robert Falcon Scott's 1912 expedition. Supporters are being invited to 'buy a push' to help fund the project.
