A Community Joy: Christmas Dancers

The first half of the show consisted of dozens of small children in bright outfits parading on stage. One five-year-old girl in an orange bird outfit captured many hearts as she whirled with a combination "deer-in-the-headlights and where-are-my-parents" look in her eyes.

In the second half of the show the older girls thrilled the audience with their poise and probably triggered bittersweet memories for many present. A large portion of the performers has been dancing with the Tahoe Dance School for 10 years. It seemed that everyone in the audience was supportive or everyone on stage.

Dee Dee Terzian, the director of the school, became choked up when she spoke of two graduating seniors who are leaving the program, Holly Hathaway and Jade Johnson. Many in the crowd had watched Holly and Jade grow up. After the performance, there was a slide show of Holly's and Jade's careers in dance.
