Experience The Full Moon From A Kayak

Navigating your kayak by moonlight is a mystical experience you won’t soon forget. On August 2nd, California State Park Rangers and West Shore Sports will provide a unique kayak tour and a grand view of the moon rising into the night’s sky over Lake Tahoe.

Held off the shore at Ed Z’berg-Sugar Pine Point State Park on Tahoe's west shore, the atmosphere of this unique two-hour adventure is peaceful and calming, yet spectacular. Participants will paddle leisurely while admiring the moon’s silvery light reflecting off the water’s surface. State Park rangers will proving interesting tidbits about the region's history along the way.

No experience is necessary and this activity is suitable for all ages. The tour is $25 per person and includes park entrance, kayak rental, life vests and instruction. Wear synthetic clothing rather than cotton (swimsuit, shirt, shorts, lightweight pants, jacket and warm cap). Bring water, retainer strap for glasses and water shoes.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Sierra State Parks Foundation.

Meet at the North Boathouse on the Day Use side of the park at 7:30pm.  Reservations are required at 530-525-9520 and space is limited.
