Full Moon/Sunset Kayak Tours at Sugar Pine Point SP

Summer is here and California State Parks, along with partner West Shore Sports is offering special full moon and sunset kayak tours along Tahoe’s magical west shore. All three adventures will take visitors on a guided tour along the shoreline of Sugar Pine Point State Park. All tours meet at the North Boathouse located within the day use area of the park.

No experience is necessary and this activity is suitable for all ages. Kayaks, life vests and instructions are provided. Wear synthetic clothing rather than cotton (swimsuit, shirt, shorts, lightweight pants, jacket and warm cap). Bring water, retainer strap for glasses and water shoes. Proceeds benefit the Sierra State Parks Foundation.

SUNSET KAYAK TOURS

Watch the pace of life change as we paddle along the shore of Sugar Pine Point for a leisurely 2 hour water tour observing the transition from day to night. A State Park Interpreter will share observations about our local wildlife, history and folklore. This experience will become the highlight of your summer.

Navigating your kayak by moonlight is a mystical experience you won’t soon forget. Join California State Park Rangers and West Shore Sports at Ed Z’berg-Sugar Pine Point State Park for this unique kayak tour watching for a grand view of the moon rising into the night’s sky while learning about the area’s unique history. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming, yet spectacular. We will paddle leisurely while admiring the moon’s silvery light reflecting off the water’s surface. Bring your friends and family for an experience you will not soon forget.
