River Update: River Up Again--June 2006
For the fourth time in as many days, the Truckee River dam gates have been opened further, bringing the current flow to over 1600 cfs, more than five times it's mean flow for the date. At the same time, the lake level, which had steadied for a day, has again risen, now only four 100ths of a foot from the "top".

At the same time, the lake level, which had steadied for a day, has again risen, now only four 100ths of a foot from the "top".
Flooding along the river banks has begun to be visibly obvious and sections of the river are now rising up over the bike trail between Tahoe City and River Ranch.
Albeit minor compared to the disastrous flooding in other parts of the country, local businesses and residents are concerned about the river level and the associated impacts over the coming holiday weekend.
