TAHOE’S ORIGINAL THREE-MOUNTAIN SEASON PASS REMAINS THE BEST OF TAHOE
Vail Resorts Season Pass Deadline Extended To December 2

South Lake Tahoe and Truckee, Calif./Nev. – Nov. 28, 2012 – With access to more than 10,270 skiable acres at three premier resorts, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort, the Vail Resorts Tahoe season passes provide the most diverse and quality experience Lake Tahoe has to offer. The facts prove it: Tahoe’s original three-mountain season pass remains the best. All three resorts are already open this season and with the Tahoe Local pass, skiers and riders can access the best of Tahoe seven days per week (Saturdays included).

“There is absolutely no better deal on a Lake Tahoe season pass than the passes offered by Vail Resorts,” said John Wagnon, senior director of brand marketing for Heavenly and Kirkwood. “Other resorts may claim to have a better pass, but the facts speak for themselves. You simply get more for less with our passes.”

As outlined in the table below, the Epic Pass, Tahoe Local Pass and Tahoe Value Pass are priced less than competing passes and offer considerably more amenities and options for guests. The Epic Pass, which offers unlimited, unrestricted skiing and riding at three resorts at Lake Tahoe (Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood) and five resorts in Colorado (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin) is $699, and this year also provides three complimentary days of skiing or riding in Verbier, Switzerland. The Tahoe Local Pass offers seven-day-per-week access to Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood with some restrictions, and is $459. The Tahoe Value Pass offers limited restricted days at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood with Saturdays excluded at Northstar and Kirkwood, and is $419. With both the Tahoe Local and Tahoe Value passes, passholders are able to purchase $50 tickets during blackout dates.

“With the two largest snowmaking systems on the West Coast at Heavenly and Northstar, and Kirkwood receiving the most annual snowfall in the Sierra, passholders are guaranteed to have great conditions at our resorts, no matter what Mother Nature throws our way,” said Davy Ratchford, director of brand marketing for Northstar. “Plus, our resorts offer a variety of experiences. If you are looking for a family-friendly atmosphere, you head to Northstar. Heavenly offers that all-in, high-energy vibe that the South Shore is known for, while Kirkwood is for the adventurers seeking an authentic, big-mountain ski and ride experience.”

With three completely unique resort experiences, at locations on both the North and South shores of Lake Tahoe, as well as just outside the basin, the diversity guests receive with the Vail Resorts passes is unmatched.

“However you do the math – capital improvements, service, terrain variety, technology that enhances the guest experience – at Lake Tahoe, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood come out on top,” Wagnon said.

Due to popular demand, the season pass deadline has been extended through Sunday, December 2, 2012, and passes are available at www.epicpass.com or at any Heavenly, Northstar or Kirkwood ticket office. As an added benefit, any lift ticket purchased can be applied toward the same-day purchase of a season pass.
