Wild Action At Squaw Banzai
The Rahlves' Banzai Tour continued its jaw-dropping excitement at Palisades Tahoe March 1-2, delivering high-speed action in challenging weather on a modified course off the resort's legendary KT-22.
The Palisades Tahoe stop, which had been rescheduled two weeks prior due to the less-than-optimal snow conditions at the time, was blanketed in fresh snow and ongoing snow showers during the event. Low visibility, and the raw course over natural terrain, which became increasingly chopped up and rutted, proved to be major factors for competitors.
For the second week in a row, the Men's Ski title was taken by Kyle Coxon, who's stamina on the course gave him a commanding and growing lead after the first turn. In the Men's Snowboard division, Banzai veteran Sylvain Duclos again took first place edging out challenger Jason Hale again.
The Rahlves' Banzai Tour continues over the next two weekends, at Alpine Meadows March 8-9, and at Sugar Bowl March 15-16th for the Super Finals and the Silver Belt Banzai.
