Santa’s Summer 2005 Visit to Tahoe

“Merry…been thinking. Little tired of the snow. What say we get us a summer place somewhere nice down south?”

“Hummm,” she sighed from the rocking chair without looking up from her knitting. She had heard this idea before.

Shakespeare Rock

Just like the poet it’s named after, Shakespeare Rock in the southeast quadrant of Lake Tahoe is an inspiration.

Saturday on Lake Tahoe

I lean back against a young pine tree and gaze at the blue sky. It is a blue you would expect to see in an over-contrasted photograph, or in the eyes of a newborn baby. It’s a surreal color that tickles my imagination; I feel content.

Picking Business Partners

There are many reasons people become involved in young, growing companies as owners, investors, or key employees. The broad range of satisfactions sought runs from an opportunity for personal expression on one end of the spectrum to capital gains on the other.

Donner Lake Rim Trail

The finished trail will provide spectacular views of the Sierra Crest, Donner Lake, and Mt. Rose as well as wonderful walking, mountain biking, or horseback riding through a diversity of ecosystems.

Cruel Fate of Hair Loss

Alas, for over 30 million American males, myself included, hair is as fleeting as love sometimes is, although, every dome had its day.

The person who was successful in sales—or accounting, driving a vehicle, teaching, writing—becomes unsuccessful. He or she was good at doing something; he or she is not good at managing.

100s Gather on Commons Beach for Fun

“It was a splendiferous afternoon,” said Dave Wilderotter, Association board member.

By 2025, what are mostly annoying problems today will be completely beyond control by locals. Our region runs the risk of becoming overrun.

Soaring in the Sierra

The sport is soaring and your wings come in the form of a sailplane, a modern-day pterodactyl that is made of aluminum, fiberglass, carbon composites and specially treated fabrics.

Sailplanes vary in size from under 40 feet to over 80 and are designed to withstand G forces more than that of an airplane. They’ve also been known to fly at altitudes that jetliners cruise.
